It works by impeding the reproduction and development of the algae spores themselves. Blanket Weed has a finite life span and once that's passed it dies off. Without using FreeFlow before it dies it releases thousands of spores which seed the next generation of Blanket Weed - FreeFlow prevents this process.
FreeFlow simply and effectively prevents new spores being released into your pond - this has a double benefit - the Blanket Weed still dies back at the end of its natural life cycle but in ponds using FreeFlow there is no massive die back and no consequential deluge of dead and dying Blanket Weed. PREVENTION
If you use FreeFlow all year it will help prevent the onset of the dreaded Blanket Weed, that each year threatens our enjoyment of fish keeping. Dosage rates are simple:
Initial doses:
Day 1 & Day 8 = 250 mls per 1000 gallons (75 mls per 1000 litres)
Maintenance dose:
Day 14 and weekly thereafter = 40 mls per 1000 gallons (10 mls per 1000 litres)
